Client: Rickenbacker International Airport
Fire/Crash Facility - Mechanical, electrical and pluming engineering designs were provided for a 24-hour, 7 days a week , 19,000 SF facility. The facility accommodates a staff of 67, approximately 20 authorized government vehicles and 30 POVs. The project included seven vehicle bays for Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting Trucks, Fire Alarm System, lock system, under floor radiant heating in the bay area, independent utility meters, backup generator, communications and CCTV, intercom, FF computer simulation room, physical fitness/therapy room, sleeping areas, restrooms, lounge and office areas.
Vehicle Maintenance Facility HVAC Assessment and Renovation - The 50,000 SF vehicle maintenance facility recently had a HVAC renovation that was completed by a design/build contractor. After construction, the facility had problems heating the building and did not have accurate as-built documents. Dynamix Engineering was engaged to investigate the installed systems to provide recommendations to correct the heating deficiencies. Dynamix was able to identify several items where the design/build contractor had attempted to reduce cost but had actually created problems resulting in excessive energy usage and poor performance. The Dynamix recommendations were implemented and the heating problems were resolved and the systems perform in a more energy efficient manner.
